4 Season Enders to Binge This Memorial Day Weekend

Looking for suggestions on what to watch now that you have some much-deserved time off?  Well, you've come to the right place!  These season enders are sure to keep you entertained so either catch up on the shows or stick around for the upcoming airing of some of the J.J. Favorites.

Slight Spoilers ahead...

1.  Barry

Barry (HBO, 2018–present), the dark comedy TV series co-created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader, stars Hader himself, along with Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan, and Henry Winkler. The series finale is set to air at 10:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, May 28, 2023. We love the emotional rollercoaster this has been and can't wait to see if this concludes the way we predict, likely with Barry's death. Will Sally be able to somehow finally carve out some semblance of a happy life, or are both she and her son destined to have it all end tragically? We can't wait to find out.

2.  Succession

Succession (HBO, 2018–present) is a critically acclaimed drama TV series created by Jesse Armstrong. Directed by Adam McKay and others, it stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen. The show has given us a fictional peek inside the world of the.0001%. They are wealthy, they are powerful, they are horrible, and they are wonderful, and we are so sad to have this story come to an end. This season alone will have each and every lead actor vying for an Emmy. Brian Cox, Kieren Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen are all putting on a master class, but of course, my personal favorite is Jeremy Strong's portrayal of Kendall Roy. I know I should hate him, but I don't, and the penultimate episode had me shouting "Kendall, let's go!" the same way I did during season 1. Let's see if he can actually pull off the board meeting. But one thing is for certain: the poison definitely dripped through, and I am here to watch him take on the world. The series finale will air and stream on May 28, 2023, at 9 p.m. EST.

3.  Yellowjackets

The Yellowjackets season finale (now streaming on Showtime) had us on the edge of our seats and ended with a banger of a finale, with several deaths, some predictable, others not so much, and other revelations that will keep us coming back for more.  The psychological thriller was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson and stars Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, and Juliette Lewis.  I doubt these ladies will ever truly be able to heal from the trauma that happened to them in the woods. Now that friends and family in the present-day timeline are involved, can they help the ladies work through their trauma, or will the cycle continue? I don't know, but I will certainly tune in to watch the next season.

4. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Another honorable mention is the finale of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (now streaming on Amazon Prime). Directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino and others, and starring Rachel Brosnahan, this show got off to a slow start, but wow, what an ending! We finally got to learn more about Susie's background, and we got to see the big break that Midge has been desperately trying to find. Though she had to break a few eggs and burn a few bridges to get there, it was absolutely worth it, and the monologue on the Gordon Ford Show killed! I felt like it was one of the best sets she gave since she first stepped foot on the stage in season 1. I'll definitely miss her quirks and minor annoyances, and I am happy to know that she and Susie will live happily ever after on separate continents but still the best of friends.

So how about you? Are you streaming any of these favorites? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
